After evaluating the Elementary and HS versions online using the "look inside"' feature, I bought 3 copies of this workbook for myself and children to practice Spanish. Both children, who have completed 1st and 4th grade, have had introductory Spanish at school. This book teaches the numbers (extensively) and some conversational spanish (How are you and I like that) and vocabulary.

This book has plenty of pictures, and though some of the illustrations are not clear (like the ones where you're supposed to tell what time of day it is for greetings), I was glad to have purchased the HS version that doesn't waste as much space on pictures as the elementary version. The kids enjoy working in these books. True, there isn't always enough space in the blanks to fit answers, but overall, I'm very happy with this purchase.

There is an easy-to-use answer key in the back.

This is an OK book that provides minimal practice for you Spanish students. Probably more suited to upper elementary grades.

I recommend this nice little book to students who would like to get a quick introduction to Spanish before jumping into a high school class. It's nice and simple and begins with lots of pictures (line drawings) that can be colored if the student chooses.

I only gave four stars because as an introduction, I really feel that the phonetic spelling should be listed beneath each and every new Spanish word, which is completely left out of this little guide. If your student has access to a Spanish speaker or some sort of CD or talking dictionary to clarify words, this little book can't be beat! But if you've never seen or spoken Spanish, use this as a review or a supplement. Well done, otherwise!
