I bought this book for my 12-year-old son as some “bridge” learning for summer vacation. The “high school” part of the title intrigued him from the start. He enjoys the succinct definitions and relevant, humorous examples of useage. Over the summer he has picked up nearly 200 words and is eager to continue.

It was 8 years after I took the SATS but I still wish I had this book then just because the examples of the words are really practical and simply written!
